This is an exceptionally large grossular garnet from the Lake Jaco locality in Chihuahua, Mexico; the largest grossular garnets known are from this locality. Lake Jaco is a little town down in the valley, the actual diggings that produced this and others are way up in the crest of the mountain range between Chihuahua and Sonora.
