|
The Curatorial Apprenticeship Program offers undergraduate students from diverse majors the opportunity to explore the various duties and tasks involved in all aspects of the museum profession, particularly in the area of exhibition development. Students volunteer a minimum of fifty-five hours of service to the University Gallery, usually over a period of two semesters. The students are exposed to the current standards and practices in exhibitions research and catalogue production, collections management, fundraising, public relations, and interpretive programming. Under the aegis of the curatorial apprenticeship program, students and sponsoring faculty work together in the development of exhibitions presented at the gallery. Frequently, the original research undertaken for an exhibition results in catalogue documentation. Student involvement extends to these publications, providing both undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to publish their scholarship. University of Delaware undergraduate students interested in this program should send e-mail to curator Jan Broske. |
